Rhonda Graff is a Fellow-In-Training with the OGA (Orton-Gillingham Academy), a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner, a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (International Dyslexia Association/ CERI), and a Multisensory Structured Language Educator. She worked in a New York public school for 29 years teaching first, second, third and fifth grades. Additionally, she was an adjunct professor at the university level. Rhonda previously authored several books for Scholastic Professional Books. Most recently, Scholastic published Rhonda’s decodable boxed sets: Decodable Cards: Short Vowels & More, Decodable Cards: Long Vowels & More, and Decodable Cards: Advanced Phonics Concepts. Currently, she is co-authoring another three book set with an expected publication date of January 2024: The Ultimate Book of Phonics Word Lists.
Rhonda began her quest for deeper knowledge when she realized her own son was struggling with dyslexia. Seeing firsthand the benefits of multisensory instruction, she realized how little she knew about teaching struggling readers the skills they needed. Rhonda’s passion inspired her to pursue multiple specialized certifications. To this day, she continues her quest for knowledge.
As a practitioner with multiple perspectives: parent, teacher and tutor, Rhonda is well trained and understands the daily challenges presented in the classroom and at home. She provides students of all ages remedial support and enrichment in reading and writing skills. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her sons, Craig and Dan, her friends and colleagues, and her adorable dog, Abbi. Her interests include biking, swimming, and drawing.
